here is something to think about. I like your lighted knock idea but shooting the lighted knocks with broadheads is not the same as field points. The lighted knock affects the weight-forwardness of your arrows. This causes the arrow to struggle more to correct as it comes out of the bow. With the broadhead on the front, you have some steering going on up there that the vanes are trying to correct. Dave sounds like he likes the blazers but you have less correction with them just because of less surface area. I highly reccommend the gold tip arrows, and for deer, the NAP Spitfire broadhead that Mr. Buffington and I are so high on. Just between the two of us there is over 100 deer without a failure. I would shoot a 4" vane for stability especially if you like your lighted knock. EVERYTHING is componded when you put that broad head on. Your form, your grip, your release, and bow tuning all affect the flight and it goes X 10 when the blades are added up front. Buy yourself one pack of Spitfires and compare your group to any fixed blade head on the market. I don't think you will be disappointed. And the gold tip arrows, they won't let you down either. They are either straight, or broke.

    W,

My first thought was the knocks had something to do with it, but when I pulled them out and put the standard knocks back in same results. I am convinced that its the wrong/cheap arrows combined with some form issues. Like Dave said the muzzys will shoot just fine its just a matter of fixing the issues.

One thing I have always tried to do when I get involved with stuff is do it well and to the best of my ability. That's why for the last year and a half I have peppered the hunting forum with all the questions I have. I would rather fix the crux of the problem (bad form and arrows) than cover it up with a mechanical. Call it a character flaw. Combine that with my overwhelming cheapness and you see my daily struggles of life!

Thanks everyone for your interest, I

    Thumbs up Arrows

I have had really good luck with Carbon Force Radial X Weave. They are Raven 300 arrows. They seem to shoot pretty consistant with my 125 grain field tips or muzzy 3 blade 125 grain broadheads. I shoot a PSE Brute bow that is 50-60 lbs draw. I have it set around 55-57 lbs and I shoot baseball size groupings of 10 arrows at 40 yards. Hope this helps.

A few things I like for my Bow Hunting set up.

    1. Shoot a poundage you are comfortable with. Shooting High poundage isn't worth a darn it you cant hit where you are aiming. I like between 60 and 65lbs.
    2. For hunting I like to shoot a slightly shorter draw length. Shooting down out of a tree stand or up and down mountains is totally different than shooting at targets when you are standing on flat ground. There is nothing worse than shooting a bow where the draw length is to long for the shooter. If you want to shoot inconsistently shoot a bow that is to long.
    3. Arrows Don't skimp on the arrows. Choose a top notch arrow that is correct for your draw length, the poundage you are shooting.I have seen way to many people go to Walmart and buy pre fletched arrows that are no where close to what they need. Go to a archery pro shop and let them assist in your arrow selection. My favorite arrows are Carbon Express Maximas,Carbon Express CXL selects, or in Aluminum s
    Easton XX78s.
    4. Learn how to tune your bow only you can do it. Someone cannot do it for you. I like paper tuning. Any Archery pro shop can give you a hand with tuning your bow.
    5. Practice how you hunt. Practice Practice Practice.........

My set up for both Deer and Elk.
Bows PSEs 28.5" draw set at 62lbs
    Deer arrows Carbon Express Maxima250s 28.5" 10%FOC
    Elk arrows Easton XX78s 2312s 29.25" 12% FOC
Fletching Vanes High profile Arizona Elites 2.6" with 2degree RH helical
Broad heads Muzzy 100 grain 3 blade.
