Three times this year I planned to get north for a meat break. Each time work has kept me stuck here.
Have a load to do on the boats tomorrow but Thursday looked like a window to do some blammin. Went and consulted the season guide for our hunting area and doves which was my hopeful target are closed for the week. Who the hell makes up these regs? One week off in between like four seasons we have here. Always seems that when I get a chance the dorr is closed for that one week.
I could go try to fill a second deer tag but our deer suck and they have been blasted at since august so they will be pretty well scarce... Coons and squirrels are open but I eat what I kill and just am not hungry enough for that...
Squirrels taste very good when cooked right Never eaten coons (has anyone?) but they sure are fun to hunt. Looks like you're in a tight spot. I say go for the squirrels. Try them. They're good. Just don't use the 12 gague I like my .22 with the scope. I know, I cheat. And yes, I can hit them with the iron sights. I'm not that bad.
SAturday thriugh next saturday I'm on my boat then anotyher for a day then the Contender to the south... That why I was hoping to get some hunting even if doves suck.
Thanks but I'm ok on meat supply. Just needed to get some blammin done. I was trying to get to Curt's this season a few times but work comes first. After a very slow year last year and slow early fall, I'm making up for it now...
