    Any trappers out there?

anyone know how to make triggers for snares? I have read about it but still cant quite wrap my mind around how to make one with a trigger sensetive enough. Any input is appreciated.

Thankyou so much for taking the time to post that. I see how that will work perfectly. i am trying to get rid of feral dogs and coyotes. I have a serious snare in mind but needed ideas on a trigger that would be easier to set off. I am going to use bait so I avoid deer. If it works once it's worth it. Thanks again!

Fox/coyote foot grab traps may work better... even a snare without a trigger would work if it has a anti-opening clip on it...

I was thinking the bait would keep the deer away. Do you catch many "good" animals in those gametrail type traps or mostly your target species?

Foot traps are probably the way to go... The trigger snares are a pain to set and the foot grabs will work better... go to a trapping website... get a few foot grabs... set them... put bait around them... and you should get the dogs... then shoot em and use the next dog for bait... are they smart or stupid?

Google coyote traps... grab some foot grabs... watch your scent unless the dogs are really stupid... google how to set them... it would take forever to explain...

so they are probably stupid although I never see them. I get lots of dogs, yotes, and coons on the cameras. Tell me what you suggest and I will try it. Its an old growth timber tract on the river that was "select cut" last year. I say that because they took every tree bigger than a foot around and left a gigantic mess. It looks like a bomb went off but its a natural funnel and has some deer over 140. All that area opened up to light its thick as hell now and will get worse or better depending on how you think on it. Lots of places to hang snares as there is pushed over brush and small trees everywhere.

I have tried those in the past and they dig the damn things up...

I was thinking use their curiosity against them. Like a snare over a foot hold trap or something like that. I guess I'll try to be more scent free but damn...

    I mean...

how in the hell did they know what the hell they were. They never tripped themThey just dug them up till they were completely exposed. I set them all over a live catch coon trap trying to get the dogs that terrorize the coons I catch. This is on another place.

Im not expert... have caught a bunch of foxes and coons and some are smarter then others. Scent and a proper set is key or they will not get caught... try the snare... worth a shot...
