I'm no expert...but I'd say blended deception on a 2-3 yo buck...just an opinion. Hopefully you'll get a chance to see him face to face and make the call then.

agree with Ag, i see some seperation between the beams. He looks like a young buck, maybe 2-2.5 years. Solid 8 pt, let him walk and he'll be a real trophy in 2-3 more years

Your probably right for most areas, but in our part of NC this borders on a stud muffin already--- yup, we got an ass load of deer but they are srawney bone wise. Our lease is not really big enough to manage a heard so we are in a constant delimea of taking a marginal shooter (by most standards) under the thinking that if we don't take the buck, someone on adjoining land certainly will---and holding offforayear or so and letting them grow.

Either way, it's a good thing I'm a fanatic about stealth, proper boot wear, camo, watching where I walk when entering a stand, scent elimination, and all the other techniques that gives me a advantage and will enable me to have a better chance at this nice buck than my care free lease partner.

Let me see that sumbich and I'll let you know what kind of "mass" he has---- he'll have an additional 110 grains of mass in his lungs that's for damn sure.

check him on the ground, you will get a better idea of what his horns feel like, check the mass by wrapping your hand around it
