.....That was all I needed this morning to get the mallards to commit.
Had a pair pitch in the decoys this morning before LST. They did their thing, bathing,and feeding, scratching duck lice etc. Then 3 minutes to go they swim outside the decoys and just sit there talking to the other 2 dozen that were now circling. Well those ended up circling and then sucked right down to the pair on the water. All were out of range. A few minutes later a group of 7 more mallards with a black mixed in and circled, circled, circled, circled and then circled some more right above all the ones on the water. Then they disappeared and I heard them pitch down on the other side of the trees. I guess they were just being mallards that's all. All the birds on the water then got up and went and landed with the circling ducks. Oh well!

Still a nice morning in the swamp. Heard turkeys pitching out of the trees all morning too right behind and above me.
