Back at it again, and still looking for the first shot of the year. The breeze is WNW like i had hoped, but the gusts have it. Swirling towards the trail that is 30 yds to my left.

Take what you get I guess. I"m about 30 ft up a poplar and have one heck of a view.

There were 3 fawns on the persimmons when I arrived and i had to spook them to get to my spot. If history tells me anything, they'll be back out. For a snack in no time.

Hopefully the rain is done. The threat was enough to keep the camera in the truck.

A momma and two fawns came across the fence and went straight to the persimmons 80yds behind me. I had the homeowner go out in the yard and spook them in my direction.

You guessed it, they went the other way.

I also dropped an arrow as i got ready for the "drive".

This is getting pretty old.

Got a friend down here going through the same thing...
Squirrel hunting here on the other hand is in full swing with 21 for the season...just protecting my nuts...

Keep at it Dave! We all know how it is sometimes , but if I know you at all you have put in the "work" and that almost always pays off. I have been out of the woods after killing a doe waiting for the PA Buck season to start

I'm actually saying all of this with a smile, I'm still on cloud 9 from the Elk experience.

I just wish the landowner would let me put corn out. He wants the deer dead and then says I can't attract them b/c that would be a step backwards. How do you "kill them all" when you can't get any of them in range?

Either way, I'm lucky to have the spots that I have access to this year, and will hopefully get my buddy his first deer and hopefully get it on film. Anything outside that good.

Lord knows I have plenty of meat in the freezer.

thats true. Ive talked to many that have had good results with the stuff. Worth a shot, and land owner would be clueless with anything other then corn i would think.

I have a few bottles of C'mere Deer that I got at a show a few years back. I've used it as a cover scent every now and again when my other spray is left behind or empty. In fact, that button buck had his nose in a place I sprayed it the other morning.

I guess I'll have to start using it per instructions and see what happens.
