SKEETERS BAD UP THERE??
THEY WILL DRIVE YOU INSANE AT THE SAXIS BOAT RAMP!
The skeeters were terrible on Friday. I got bit on the friggin nose.
It's death time tonight. I'm taking the climber on an "expedition" tonight unless my buddy wants to try another yard he has permission for.
Good luck Kay.
I left the tree @ 8, had to get some work done.

John bought a climber and we're set up in a new place. We're on a hillside full of oaks and beechnuts, along a floodplain. We had a little trouble finding trees and spooked about 5 on the way in. There are tracks and trails everywhere.
Yes, the skeeters are thick. Wind is swirling and I forgot a facemask.
I hope they don't fall in love w/ me before I shoot them.

WOW....another boring ass night.
I will note that the squirrels have HUGE tails this year. Maybe it will be a cold winter.
Nothing good to report.
The stands are still hanging and we're headed back in the morning.
If the muddy tracks through the creek are any indication, there are a lot of deer in the area and they've been through the area a bunch since the rains over the weekend.

It's amazing how cols 55 can feel when the dew is heavy and you're nor ready for it. The dew is falling from the trees along w/ the black walnuts.
I'd hate to curse it, but something feels good about this morning.

just had a button @ 10 yds from john. He drew twice and finally rushed the shot. Worst form i've seen in a long time. It's funny how things can totally fall apart in the heat of the moment. The little sucker gave me a 40 yd shot but I figure 1 miss is enough and he deserves a chance.
3 or 4 big does snorted @ us and have been from 30-40 yds for 30 having a staring contest w/ me. I had two nice lanes, but they never gave me the shot.
John hit his string on the stand and it came off the wheels.
These does are snorting up a storm, and wont leave. The laqwnmowers are up the hill and have the intrigued.
Good to finally have some action. Still snorting!!

It's funny to watch a rookie go through all of the BS I went through years ago. That Button Buck had him shaking like a leaf and all of his judgement, if he had any to begin with, went right out the window.
Rookie mistakes are expected, but I think I'm going to have to hunt by myself real soon, or go nuts watching all this meat walk around.
