I'm back at it again.
It's foggy and water is dropping from all of the trees.
I have the tarsal glands from grasshoppers buck and am set up just down wind from a bedding area on a dominant ridge. I'm not in an ideal tree, but when you forget your limb saw, you take what you can get. The first few squirrels are awake, and the wet leaves make them almost silent.
I'm in for an all day sit today.
Wed night I hunted up here, and grunted in a heavy horned 8 pt to 35 yds. There were two problems. It was too dark to shoot, and he only had one antler!
I'm looking for the mean SOB that kicked his ass.
Damn these tarsals stink!

I'm not as high in the tree as I would have hoped, but my choices were slim. A little 4 point just walked within 10 yds. He looked right up at me at one point as he got to a shooting lane. I better be drawn if a big one walks up!
He stuck around for a while and is now roaming around off to my right in the mountain laurel.

It's raining, and a lone big doe just snuck in and bedded 50 yds @ my 1 o'clock.
Let's hope a boyfriend comes looking for her. As far as I can tell she's alone right now. The mountain laurel is thick over there.

To the west of the condo on that ridge. The condo doesn't have a roof anymore

That's a nice spot. I noticed last year the condo roof was a mess.
Keep me updated. There are definitely deer there. You got anyone up there with you?
All alone today.
The rain just stopped and it's getting to be the right time of day.
Stay tuned.
