2010 Duck Opener

This weekend Jacky was home as he wanted to scout out of Duckies.... We did just so and enjoyed riding around in fabulous NC Fall weather.



Not too bad for some mallards...


If I was a woodie I wouldn't mind sleeping here!


Plenty of food around


More goodies for a flat bill...

Anyway this morning Patrick and I left quite early (for me) only to find 25 pickups at the ramp!!!!! He wasn't too happy but kept but he kept his cool saying that we may be last out but we'll be first in with some ducks... We decided he'd miss first period sometimes you've got to set your priorities!!!
Got to our plan A area and spots A,B and C were taken................
Turned around and stopped at an area we didn't know too well but we had not much time to waste!
By now we were at the point where you're just happy to be out no matter what we see...

Duck boy set out a few deeks and we waited for 06H47



The first shots went off around us and then some woodies came around... An hour and 15 mins later we had our limits of woodies. I fell 3 times in the water got soaked but saved the phone and got that wounded!



We had to leave, school was calling and he'll have to go back to see those bluewings and mallards come in reach!
Jacky if you want your scouted spots Saturday you may have to sleep out there...

Ahhhhhhhh.... The joys of Wake County! That's one reason amongst many I haven't lived there since my days at Apex High School.

Looks like ya'll made out pretty good though, hunting around there on gamelands is tough...
