I figured that you wahoo, would have been interestedin the vid of the chicken, It is a sport, maybe not the best, but still a sport.
But since you mentioned the the tree, that is a much better story. Yes, it is full of rednecks, to say the least. For some reason the Pines in the yard seemed to die off that year. I was offered the services of two locals, known as the SHAKEY BROTHERS, Cal and Stevie. They said that they would bring the John Deere to the house, hook to the DEAD pine and get it cut down for me. When the Shakey brothers got there I should have kknown better than to let them do this job, but I wanted the tree gone. I was afraid it would fall on my fence, you know. I didn't want the liability of it falling on the neighbors shed. Well once the Shakeys' got down the first (well, the first I saw) beer they were ready for work. THey wrapped a cable around the DEAD tree. Stevie on the John Deere. Cal at the base of the DEAD tree. Stevie got some tension on the cable. Cal Started sawing. Stevie, for some unknown reason, not only kept the tension tight, but felt the need to give another GOOD tug with the trusty John Deere. We were all trying to tell him to back off a little. He just couldn't hear us I guess. Keep in mind that brother cal is at the base of the tree with the chainsaw running, can't hear a thing, and only looking at the saw. As Stevie tightned up more and more, something had to give. The tree broke off and the whole darn thing landed on Cal's HEAD. We all ran over to cal as he lay there on the ground. I am still not sure that Stevie realizied what had happened. It took us a few minutes to wake cal. Stevie just kept saying, "OH he is ok, aint nothing wrong with him". If that had beena man worth a chit it sould have killed him. But Cal, well he was shook up a little, but not damaged. After this "ACCIDENT" I refused to let them continue their "WORK". The tree was later cleaned up by beagleman and myself. (this is an old pic that i posted)

Beagleman and I are plannng a trip to the river tommorow. I can't sleep. It is 2:30 in the morning and I got to get up at 6. This will be the first time since we got the pig. I will be on the look out for one tommorow and I will have my new camera with me. It also has a feature to record short videos. This may be an interesting trip. I will post soon as I get home. I will be looking for gators also on this trip. I will also do a little scouting for coons while we are there.
