1/21 Grueling Hunt

man....we had a tough one today......

my feet hit the floor at the awful early hour of 5:47 AM. met my buddy and we made a long drive of 5 minutes to our spot. loaded the boat and made a torturous 50 yard boat ride to the island. tied out a huge spread consisting of 15 busted ass diver decoys, hid the boat and slogged thru 20 feet of mud to the blind. legal shooting time rolls around at 6:46.....

by 7:02, there is 2 limits worth of carnage floating in the decoys.

pick up our mess and start the long ride back to town. stop to have a cup of coffee and something to eat, and im back home on the sofa in time to catch the end of "Good Morning America".

no complaints, life is good. thanks MLK for the day off. i think ill take a nap now.....all that work has worn me slam out .

120 mile drive
8 mile 20 degree boat ride
stuck with no water
set 100 decoys
shoot a few times
pick up 100 decoys
8 mile 27 degree boat ride
120 mile drive

Next year one of your southern boys has gotta take me on a good blackjack shoot.
