    Winter Seabassing

AH! I'm dying! February starts tomorrow and I haven't even been out yet! Ugh! It's killing me! Between my busy schedule and the weather it's tough to get out, but I'm working on it! Anybody else made it out there lately?

    Super Bass Sunday

Well we finally got out this past Sunday & what a day we had. This was our first seabass trip on our own boat so I was hoping for the best. The crew was
Ann 13, Sydney 7, Dan 14 & Me Matt the Old Guy. We got up a 4am & headed for the Cape May ramp. All went well & we were on our way by 6am. The ride out was uneventful except for the beautiful sunrise. On site about 8am & into fish right away. We jigged nice seabass til about 1pm when it was time to head in to see the Super Bowl. On the way in we came across a pod of porpoise that were playing all around the boat. Ann took a video of the porpoise which I hope she will post. The ride in was pretty smooth as we managed to get back in an hour & a half. By 6pm we had the boat out, cleaned up & on our way to the party.

Final tally 67 seabass with several over 7 pounds.

Ann caught a 6.13lb. seabass which should be a new IGFA lineclass record for her. We also have some video of her catching her record.

I will let Ann add the pictures, video & her comments but over all it was a great trip.

    More to follow.

    Matt
