    Liltuna n' Costa Rica

We started in lake Arenial chasing Guapote. The spinner bait caught the most fish in most tough conditions.

Our best view of the volcano Arenial looked like this

from la fortuna we took a little plane to pt. jimenez where we would try to get our salt water fish.
Our first day was very lucky. I got several mahi's, bluefin trevally, a roosterfish, and many snappers.

i didn't think this trip could get any better, but dad said we had an offshore day coming up and we might get some billfish.
Well we did. Capt. Tom had us on fish in no time. Dad was got to feed and fight a 400lb blue marlin as soon as the mates put the teasers out. After that it was sailfish after sailfish until we got a doubleheader with a blue and a sail. i got to catch my first bluemarlin. It was very hard but i didn't quit and finally got him to the boat. Here are the pics.

It was an amazing trip and great fishing for sure but having my mom, dad, and grandparents there made it extra special. The people we met there were the most frindly people i've ever met and very fun to play with. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Nice one, may I ask how old you are? My boy is almost 10 now and he can't handle a Penn 80, what size reel did you catch the Marlin on?

Thank you for the welcome. I am 10 also. I have alot of homework and reading so don't have time to fill in the details right now maybe this weekend. Here's the vids of the beginning and end of my bluemarlin. you can see how the harness was too big and i wasn't use to it but still managed OK. Thanks to Capt. Tommy Lynsky, Chris, and Eric. and especally dad!

The reels were Shimano 80's w/ 80 lb diamond. We had a really good captain. It was loads of fun I wish I could do it again. We were fishing about 9 miles off shore and caugft all of our billfish in that area.
We caught all of our other fish around Matapalo rock with live bait on circle hooks.
