Thumbs up Jumbo Seabass AND a Tilefish Record

I went fishing on Friday for some black seabass and tilefish. We started the day with tons of seabass and we had our limit by 11 o'clock, so we headed towards the tilefish. I was really excited because when we went tilefishing before I thought I had my first tile but it was really two dogsharks that were tailwrapped in my line! We started fishing as soon as we got there and I had a hit right away. I started reeling but I knew it wasn't the right hit. Dogshark! We had dogsharks for a while, but then we found the tilefish. Paul got the first tilefish, then Jimmy got his, and finally, I hooked up! I knew it was the perfect bite. It wasn't just any tile, it felt like a big one! I fought it for 25 minutes when we finally started to see color. I brought it to the surface and we were all in shock! I had never seen a larger tilefish in person! Since there was no record for junior or womens, I set a possible two records! After I got my fish we weighed it on the Bogo-grip and it was a 47 lb. golden tilefish! My fish was landed so I got to take a break! We then had a few more hook-ups. Scott, Bill, and Barry then each landed a another tile! We made a few more drifts to see if my dad and Buddy could land a tile, but they didn't have any luck! We got to the dock at about 6 o'clock, but we didn't way the fish until the next day. We weighed my tile on Saturday and it ended up weighing 44 lb.! We had an awesome day!

    P.S.
Scott, Bill, Barry, Buddy, Paul, Jimmy, Daddy, and Capt. Timmy, thanks for an awesome day! I hope to get out with you guys again soon!

    First weigh-in for 2006!!!

Congrats on another pending IGFA record Ann!!! Kind of funny when you think that we ended the 2005 year weighing in one record for you (your seabass on New Year's Eve) and the first weigh-in for 2006 @ OTH is another record for you!!! What a way to start the year!!!!

Tell Kyle that even if he doesn't get the big fish the first time, don't give up! It took me 10 years till I got my first big one!
