Congrats!!!
I myself had the junior world record for weakfish (9.46lbs) back when I was about 9 or 10yrs old (I think). Lost it a few years back to Tred Barta's kid. Wasnt a big fish really, but was bigger than the existing record by more than 2lbs.

My first weakfish trip was a great one. My dad and I were fishing light tackle and didn't expect to get anything big. My first fish that I hooked up with was a nice "4 pounder," as my dad would call it. The next fish was definately bigger. It put up a good fight, and this one was "7 pounds." I cought one more fish right after that, the same size. All the while, my dad was breaking off all his fish!![]()
When we got back to the dock, the fish were way bigger than expected. The littlest was 7#s, and the biggest of the fish were both 9.5#s. This made my biggest fish 7 oz.s short of the junior record. I was so bummed because my dad said they were smaller, so we put them on ice for at least 4 hours!
O well! I guess I'll just have to get out there and catch another big one!
Great job angler its just a matter of time now I see a 60 in your future!
well not to rain on any ones parade here but just sayign i was pretty close to a junior record i hooked a 50+ pounderand my idiot friend broke it off at da boat![]()
