Frances Fleet 9/26

My girlfriend and I were planning on heading up Thursday night after my class meeting up with pops and Eben to do some codfishing with Eastmans, but we decided against it due to the forecast being marginal at the time and didn't want to drive up and then possibly have to head home due to weather.

Now Friday night I get a call from my friend to come up and fish the Frances Fleet Saturday. I told him I would see what I could do and that I needed someone to cover me for work. I also told him I had no gear what so ever. He tells me don't worry I've got you two covered. Well I find out at 8pm and tell him we'll be there tomorrow. The boat set sail with 24 people headed toward Block Island. When we stopped we began drifting and the scup began flying over the rails. Soon after we anchored up. Rods were bent constantly with doubles on some nice sized scup. There were a few seabass caught too. A school of bluefish moved in and yours truly ended up landing one. So we made a little move and the scup slaughter began again. It was a lot of fun catching these fish on such light tackle and seeing Jacque with a huge smile when she got one that was around 3 pounds bounce her rod all over. She had a great time catching all those scup. We look forward to getting back out there again.
