Florida Fishing
Hey everyone, I am quite new to these forums and I am from South Windsor, Connecticut.
Im 14 and I love to fish, I just got back today from Charlotte Harbor, Florida, and I wanted to throw a couple things out.
Charlotte Harbor is known for Seatrout this time of the year, and I caught two of them. One was 14 and 2 centimeters, and one was exactly 15 inches. As some may know, Tarpon season is arising in Florida, and the best place in the United States to fish for Tarpon is right there in Charlotte Harbor, technically speaking, Boca Grande Pass. Yesterday I caught four pinfish, a couple inches bigger than minnows, and still considered a bait fish. They are a pain if you are trying to catch a nice Spanish Mackeral, Redfish, or Snook. Something kept stealing the shrimpy off of my hook and I said, "Hmm, if this is a big fish, then it would have been hooked by now. Let me try ripping the shrimp in half and concealing the hook inside the shrimp completely." And very luckily, my plan worked. I caught 4 of those pinfish just by doing that. I ave them to my grandpa and he froze them in the freezer for offshore fishing at a place called, "Fish Haven" where there are plenty Amberjac's, also known as "Reef Donkeys", and different types of Snapper.
It is hard fishing in Florida at this time due to all the rain they got, but I am hoping Connecticut has some trout in some of the rivers.
