    Best rockfish yet

Jack (3 1/2 yrs) did some fishing at the dock last Sunday while I worked on the boat. He went through a bag of bloodworms and ended up with about 30 perch and one nice little striper which was his best to date.

Jack practices 'catch - keep in a bucket - then release' so none of the fish ended up in the frying pan.....this time!

Very cool. Way to go, Jack!

When I was a kid I used to fish using a mosquito net on the beach and practice 'catch - keep in a bucket - then release'

The problem is brought the bucket with me to the apartment a few times and part of the fish ended up dying before the release days later
(I changed the water every day)

Yeah not bad. I hear they have been catching rockfish over 20" at the fuel dock under the lights a few docks down.

Usually at the dock Jack gets a mixture of perch, spot, and small stripers like this little guy below from a few weeks back.......

Awesome! Hopefully in a year or so he'll be off the dock and catching some more fish! I'd love to see some more pics soon.

In my Rod and Reel club at school we have been catching 20 to 23 inchers of the bulkhead with an average size of about 19
