I know it took forever, but I finally have time to post! Just don't tell me ILA teacher that I didn't read Othello!
Friday, Novevmber 30th:
My dad had to call Sydney and I in sick. We both had a severe case of striper fever. After getting to sleep in for a while, we were up and on our way to the ferry. The Delaware Bay was a little choppy, so the boat was rockin', but soon we were in Delaware and looking forward to reaching our destination, Norfolk, VA. On our way down, we stopped at our house in Chincoteague. It was good to see the house again, but after a short visit, we were back on the road. After one too many hours in the car with my brothers, we arrived at the hotel. We checked in and then we were off to meet my aunt, uncle, and cousins. My cousin had a basketball game, so we all went to watch and then went out to dinner. It was 10 o'clock by the time we got back to the hotel, so we called it a night.
Saturday, December 1st:
Rise and shine at quarter of 5 and we met Team Hapi Daze in the lobby soon after. We were so fortunate to be invited to fish with Capt. Rick Nunn along with the rest of Team Hapi Daze, Greg and RJ. Check out right at 6 with Ken, and then we're off to the CBBT. We boated a nice 25 lber. early, and then a 34, both caught by Greg. With a nice fish in the boat, we decided to run up the bay, to try drifting some eels. We heard the bite was pretty good, and not long after we were catching fish of our own. I couldn't help myself and I was kinda a rod hog the rest of the day. Somehow, all of our fish hung themsleves, and I just happened to be next to the rod. We boated several fish, including my biggest of the day, at 39.2 lbs. I was really hoping to break the 40 pound mark, which I have yet to do, but 39.2 was the final weight. At the end of Day 1 we were in 3rd place, and Sydney and I were in 2nd place for junior.
Sunday, December 2nd:
Once again, we were up bright and early at quarter of 5, and down in the lobby once again. Check out with Ken, and then off to the bridge once more. No fish at the bridge; the tide was running really weird and the times were off, so up the bay we went. We caught around 7-8 fish, along with SYDNEY'S FIRST 30!!!! He was sooooo excited! All of the fish were clones, 30-32 lbs. In the end, our biggest fish weighed in at 31.25 lbs. It was awesome to see how happy Sydney was, and how happy everyone was for him! Now I just have make sure that he doesn't break 40 before I do!
In the end, Team Hapi Daze took 4th place and Sydney and I came in 2nd for junior.
Congrats to all of the winners! WTG Jerry and crew on the Handyman, the crew of Murphy's Irish Pub, and the crew of Tyman. WOOOO!
I know that we all had so much fun, and I can't wait to see everyone again soon. From all of Team ModSquad, we would like to thank Team Hapi Daze for having us along, and we hope that we're invited back!
