The motor was traded in with no serious issues. Our service tech did a basic check out of the motor, but did NOT perform a complete service as it had been serviced recently. This motor came from Minnesota and has never seen salt water at all. It was run and winterized 11/9/09 and a video of it was taken running. I will send the vid clips as requested (kodak easyshare vid clips). No controls, this does not have power tilt and trim and the motor will fit a 20 inch transom. It could use a set of carb kits and floats. I would install a water pump impeller before full operation. The motor is a bit dirty from being outside on the motor stand will be move indoors shortly and will clean up nice. There is one minor chip near the cav plate. This motor fired right up and across all 4 cylinders has 150 lbs compression. That was a dry reading before I sprayed oil into it. THIS IS A GOOD STRONG MOTOR manufactured in 1971 according to the serial number. Other than sitting a bit it appears to have been well cared for and possibly moderate use $700 or make a reasonable offer as is forsalelocally or for gas and tolls I will drive up to three hours to deliver or meet half way. Located in Massachusetts I can also deliver to forward air or have it picked up by R&L or your freight of choosing. prefer cash and local pickup of course. no returns sold where where is as is no warranties or guarantees but I can tell you she is alive!!!!!!!!! Controls are common for these motors. The motor has been sufficiently fogged for winter layup. Early 50's Mercury racing outboard. This is a factory built KG7H engine. Serial # 538420S. The tag matches the block. Most found are home built with repro tags.This is a nice low hour engine. I've owned it for 15 yrs where it has sat in my collection. When I purchased it, I replaced: points, condensors, coils, plug wires, plugs, fuel line, impellar, bottom crankshaft seal, gaskets, and gear grease. The engine has the Scintilla mag with the thin flywheel.The compression on this motor is ridiculous! It ran great in my test tank with a test prop. It idled like a 3hp Johnson! I never ran it on a hydro because I only have a D boat. It has the original soft rubber thumbscrews and has never had paint or cosmetic work done. It has a dent in the front of the fuel tank as shown and misc scratches and dings. No breaks, welds or amateur work. I will include a nice original paint lower cowl with it if the high bidder wants it. I've collected and repaired vintage Mercury Outboards for over 20 yrs. I will ship it, but prefer pickup. If shipped, the powerhead will be removed and shipped seperately. I will include a new base gasket.The motor weighs around 75lbs uncrated. Displayed shipping cost is an ESTIMATE. I will charge ACTUAL shipping and refund if its less.(It probably will be a lot less) I will pack it carefully so it arrives safely. I use FEDEX.This is a very rare engine in nice shape. Selling 2 (separate auctions)-1994 Mariner (mercury) 135hp outboard motors. Both motors run great. Motors have 20" shaft but are not counter rotating. Tilt/trim work fine on both units. Sale will include controls if you buy both units (control is a single unit for both motors). Motors are in very good cosmetic shape as well. Reason for selling is boat side rail got smashed during a storm. If you have any further questions call (609) 628-3337. Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. Local pickup perferred.
