31 FOOT COMMERCIAL WORK BOAT HULL Vehicle Description 31 FOOT COMMERCIAL FIBERGLASS WORKBOAT HULL 3208 CAT WITH FORWARD CABIN This 31-foot hull was designed for the Coast Guard by Bertram Boat Works of Miami, Florida. The first hulls were built by Bertram in Miami and the rest assembled at the Coast Guard Yard at Curtis Bay, MD. This hull is # 27 of 28 built for the Coast Guard, CG-31027 is official USCG hull number The 31-PSB was designed to train Coast Guard personnel in boat handling techniques. The boat is very easy for ONE PERSON to operate and handle. HULL: The boat was designed to government specifications and constructed with a fiberglass hull which is a deep vee design for speed with a slight tunnel for running gear to get in shallow water and the cabin is also fiberglass which is set forward on the hull with an open cockpit design similar to a New England Lobster type hull, the deck is a flush deck which is the same level from bow to stern and you can walk around the entire boat with plenty of room and the deck is low to the water for easy access to anything you want to get to. A 3" D-Rubber bumper surrounds the complete hull for great protection. TOWING: Tow Posts are located on the bow and stern are built of steel. This hull was once used as a towing vessel in Florida. This boat has a lot of power for pulling. FUEL: There are four fuel tanks on board which two are made of Monel steel, two are approx. 150 gallon and two are 27 gallon each, just installed in 2009. There is a racor fuel filter 2020SM type as well as a primary and secondary on the engine. Boat will average about 8GPH. ENGINE/GEAR: Engine is a Caterpillar 3208 Turbo and after cooled engine with fresh water cooled heat exchanger. Engine was completely rebuilt from top to bottom with all new parts in 2008, There is less than 50 hours on engine. Gear is a Twin Disc 507 Gear with 2:1 Reduction which was also rebuilt with new rubber connecting plates. There is a shaft shaver installed. Speed is in the 20+ range. RUNNING GEAR: Shaft is a 2" Stainless Steel shaft that was replaced in 2007 it has new carbon fiber dripless shaft seal and a Nibral 4 Blade 22" D X 27" P Prop. It has a large rudder with new SeaStar Hydraulic Steering System which replaced the Teleflex System. ELECTRICAL: There are two 8D Batteries for the engine starting system and One 8D Battery for the house system, new wiring, new Perko navigation lights and wiring, interior and exterior cabin lights. New Pro Techi Plus Series, Automaic Marine Battery Charging System 40 AMP/3 Banks, programmable system. The hull displacement is approx. 16,000 lbs. Length: 30' 5", Beam: 11' 6", Draft: 3' 11" max. CABIN: The cabin has been completely reworked and the interior is cypress wood, the single bunk is a new water proof foam cushion in navy blue water resistant material Sunbrella with closed foam. The floor is painted deck gray marine and the steps are mahogany. Ceiling is in Cypress and FRP (white fiberglass reinforced plastic) with SS fasteners. Boat is located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Boat was completely painted with Interlux Marine Paint and Primers per factory specifications on the hull, cabin, and bottom in late 2008. Boat is for sale as is.
