The Volvo V-6 is complemented by Wellcraft's Whisper-flow engine silencing system. The exhaust, Rankin says, "goes out both sides, so it's pretty quiet. We've done decibel and performance testing on this boat with and without the muffler, and it (the muffler) doesn't hurt the performance one ounce. We haven't lost even 1/10 mile per hour in our testing, which is phenomenal. So you get the horsepower without the noise." No kidding. On a barely semi-calm test day in Florida, the 19 Jet turned in an impressive top speed of 50.1 miles per hour--very impressive for a single-engine jet--with a tolerable decibel reading of 94 dB at the helm and 104 dB at the transom at wide open. It didn't take the 19 Jet long to get to speed, either, going from 0 to 30 mph in 7.47 seconds (as long as some boats take just to get on plane). It's plenty strong and quick to get a skier up out of the hole. Access to the engine is good. The cover is secured by a rubber strap/latch that slips off without much effort, and there's room to get inside and work, although according to Rankin, you might not ever need to. "It's a solid engine," he says. "It's a fully marinized version of the standard 4.3-liter engine that's been set up to work with the pump, but that's it. There's nothing tricky, just a really good engine. Literally, all you should have to do is change the oil and the spark plugs every so often." The same holds true for the jet pump, even though Rankin did say that after-market impellers to replace the stock aluminum unit will soon be available. The Volvo impellers, though, may be a little different from what you're used to if you have a background with PWC or other mini-jets. "The impellers don't have `pitches' (the blades' angle of attack as measured in degrees) because the vanes are so long," Rankin says. "The impellers are called A, B, C, D, depending on the vanes, like a five- or six-vane impeller, as well as how far back the vanes run." While Rankin said Wellcraft hasn't had any problems or complaints from testers regarding the standard aluminum impeller, I'd still like to see them switch to a stainless-steel unit for the added durability. Other than that, the pump seems solid. "It's simple to work on," Rankin promises. "In 20 minutes you can have the whole pump apart, and 20 minutes later you can have the whole thing back together." There's more to a boat, even a small jetboat, than just the engine, though, and that's where the 19 Jet's other standard features begin to make themselves obvious and appreciated. Starting at the stern, the swim platform is large, covered in rubber traction padding for sure and comfortable footing (or kneeling), and incorporates both a three-step swing-down swim ladder (whose large steps are also covered with traction pads) and an access hatch so you can clear the pump without having to swim under the boat. While the cockpit may look small from above, once you're inside, it's surprisingly roomy and comfortable. It's more reminiscent of a sports car than a boat. The two rear seats are molded-in buckets, each with a roll-bar grab handle behind the passenger's head and drink holders right where you'd look for them. The rear seats are actually pretty nice to ride in, giving a very snug, secure feel even in choppy water. It felt a little strange at first to sit behind the 19 Jet's portside steering wheel, but not for long. It only took a couple of minutes, snugged into the high-back bucket seats, working the floor-mounted throttle, enjoying the quick-ratio (1 1/2 turns, lock to lock) steering, glancing at the easy-to-read speedo and tach, for me to feel as at home behind the wheel of the 19 Jet as I like to think I'd be behind the wheel of a Dodge Viper. Driving the 19 Jet is a blast. Using basically the same hull as the Scarab 18 Sprint (Wellcraft added two partial inner strakes to the 19 Jet hull to replace the delta pad of the 18 Sprint, a move made necessary by the jet pump's need to draw water up into the pump), the 19 Jet handles as well as (or better than) any mini-jet I've tested. High-speed turns are taken in stride, and the hull doesn't want to let go even in the tightest plane-speed corners. Even better, the 19-foot length and 7-foot beam provide a stable platform in the rough as the deep-vee bottom cuts through the water. True, the 19 Jet won't make you forget how well a 28-footer deals with the chop, but it's a lot better behaved in the rough than the average 14-foot jet. The quick-ratio steering takes some getting used to; there's virtually no play in the wheel, and it can almost seem as if the boat turns simply because you thought about turning. Between the offshore-style throttle sitting at your side and the quick-ratio steering, it doesn't take a lot of imagination at the 19 Jet helm to picture yourself as the wheelman fighting for the lead in the Miami-Nassau race. Actually, according to Rankin, that's not that far-fetched; some offshore teams are actually using the 19 Jet as training tools for drivers and throttlemen. While it may be a bit unorthodox, the Scarab 19 Jet's cockpit layout is well thought out and functional. The gauges, featuring extra-large numbers, are easily seen and read at speed (although I did notice the steering wheel partially blocking my view of the speedo). Built in stereo housing unit in front of the center console controls is very handy for your favorite unit with speaker locations under the rear seats filled the cockpit with great sound. Directly in front of the driver and forward passenger are the 19 Jet's eyebrows, two small chartreuse wind deflectors that are dramatically effective in keeping the wind out of your face at speed. The padded gunwales provide storage space for skis, tow ropes and the like, and the 19 Jet is fully carpeted, even inside the closed bow. While the roomier than expected cockpit is a bonus, the fully carpeted closed bow may turn out to be an even nicer amenity, especially if you find yourself caught off-guard by a sudden summer shower. Believe or not, there's room enough for two people to fit comfortably inside the bow, which measures 70 inches wide at the cockpit, a full 9 feet from dash to nose, and the roof is a full 16 inches above the deck. It's not a room at the Waldorf, or even a Motel 6, but it's better than sitting in the rain. You could even sleep under there if you had to, but I wouldn't recommend it. The fully carpeted under-bow points out an unlisted standard feature of Wellcraft's Scarab 19 Jet that deserves mention: outstanding fit and finish. Unlike some of the mini-jets that seem to have been designed and built at 4:30 on Friday afternoon, the 19 Jet shows an attention to detail that's welcome. In addition to the access hatch in the swim platform to make clearing the pump easier, there's a host of little details that I came to appreciate as I spent time with the 19 Jet. The centered and raised ski tow eye, for example, that provides a higher angle of attack for the ski rope, as you'd find in a boat with a ski pylon. The Volvo V-6 comes with a standard flush kit built in; the kit is so well-designed that the engine doesn't have to be running to be flushed: Just hook up the garden hose, run it for a few minutes, and you're ready to go. The engine compartment, in addition to the Whisperflow system, is fully soundproofed to further reduce noise. Also, the two openings on the engine compartment are functional as well as stylish; one is the outlet for the engine compartment blower, the other acts as the engine air intake. Neither one is noticeable, even if you're sitting in the rear seats. Considering the list of standard features above and beyond the immediately remarkable, including a Sunbrella cockpit cover, the bow lifeline and pop-up stainless-steel cleats among others. Exotic and familiar at the same time, performance-driven but comfortable and loaded with creature comforts, and priced well within that reasonable range, Wellcraft's Scarab 19 Jet isn't just another face in the mini-jet crowd. 2007 seadoo sea doo Utopia 205se jet boat challanger Vehicle Description Up for sale is a gently used and clean 2007 Seadoo Utopia 205 SE with 48.4 freshwater hours . It is owned by a manager at a seadoo dealer and has not been abused as shown in the RPM readout image. The image shows what percentage of the engine's life was spent at what RPM range. This boat is equipped with the twin 155HP engine package for a total of 310HP. Since owning it I have added a 2.5" wake tower, 4 polk audio speakers, 2 wakeboard racks, and a JL audio marine amplifier for well over $2000.00. The boat runs great and is in great condition except for normal bouy scuffs, light keel marks, and a rear trim piece that needs new upholstory push pins but works and looks fine. The interior is in great condition as it stays covered and parked under cover. I'd rather over criticize the boat than you not be happy. All accessories are included such as the bimini top (which works with the tower), table and post, mooring covers, detachable face stereo, fat sack in ski locker, galvanized trailer with swing away tongue .
