MacGregor 25 Swing Keel Sailboat in British Columbia Vehicle Description Here is a very nice 1977 MacGregor 25 sailboat with a swing keel made of iron. The keel weighs 625 lbs. and provides excellent stability unlike the sloppy water ballasted tubs. This boat is the one elected into the Sailing Hall of Fame in 2000. Designed by Roger MacGregor, these boats are well built with excellent handling characteristics. They point well, are very fast downwind and if pushed too hard into the wind will round up and stall saving you from a dunking. Very forgiving and safe as well. With the keep up you can beach her and with it down you have a very safe and respectable 5.5 foot draft. The gelcoat on this boat is in great condition as this boat has spent most of its life in a building and has not been exposed to the weather much. This nice boat comes on its own trailer in good condition and a very nice 4 HP Evinrude with a built in fuel tank. There isn`t even a scratch on the leg or prop. This motor has hardly been run. There are 3 good sails, a main, a jib and a 110% genoa, all in sail bags. The sheets are in good condition as are life lines and standing rigging, mast and boom. Winches, cleats etc are all good. Also has an adjustable kicker bracket. A new Danforth anchor with chain and rode are also included as are flares and flare gun. There is also a bilge pump, fenders and other sundries too numerous to list here. I will also include a ``new in the box`` Portable Toilet. A VHF ship to shore radio and marine compass are also included. There is a built in galley with sink and water pump as well as a near new propane 2 burner marine stove for cooking. The dinette table drops down to form a double bed, has double vee berth and additional single to port quarter. This boat is perfect for water camping or a trip up the coast next spring. Think of it, the Sunshine coast, Pender Harbour, Desolation Sound! AAAH! To dream. And check out those cushions! Very nicely covered in Hunter Green fabric ready for years of worry free use. This boat is in Chilliwack, BC and I can deliver in western Canada for $2.00 a loaded mile. Ferry costs additional. Watkins Sailboat Weekender Cruiser 27' Vehicle Description This 27 foot Watkins is an excellent cruising yacht. The boat has a traditional small sail layout with a v-berth forward, an enclosed head (Manual Jasco toilet) with integral shower, and a salon including the galley at the companionway. The interior of the boat is in very good condition with many extras including an inverter to power small 110 volt appliances, as well as a AM-Fm Stereo system with cockpit speakers. The sails (main and jib) and rigging are in good condition. The topside is in good condition more than reasonable for the age of the vessel. The boat is equipped with a Raytheon Digital Depth/Speed/Apparent Wind electronics. The boat did received some damage from Hurricane Katrina in 2005 with a piece of the bowspirit broken. I elected not to replace it and it in no way hinders the operation of the jib sail and I have sailed the boat extensively since then. It also received some damage during Hurricane Gustauv in 2008 but was all cosmetic damages to the rubrail and some abrasion to the fiberglass in some areas (see close-up photo of a couple of the areas) when it scrapped against some pilings. The boat was bottom painted in 2006 and I was waiting until I had it hauled for another bottom paint job to repair the fiberglass abrasions. The boat is docked at Bayou Castine in Mandeville, LA in fresh water but yet a short 5minute run to Lake Ponchartrain. The boat slip there is available. The Yamar 18 HP diesel runs great and is supplied with 2 GPR 29 batteries with a battery switch. It also has a on-board Guest battery charger.
