Quick Tip #1 - Fun Fact: If you surf without booties, it's always nice to rub a little wax on the bottom of your feet before paddling out. Adds some extra grip, and is a cool pre-surf 'ritual'.

Quick Tip #2 - How To Wax A Surfboard: To get perfect beads of wax on your board for the best traction and grip, use light pressure. With a corner of wax, on a clean deck (no or little wax), make a 'checkerboard'. Essentially, wherever normally putting wax, with light pressure make a 'checkerboard'...

To Fish or not to Fish...The Gusts Continue 3-26

Posted 03-27-2009 at 09:48 AM by holidayisleoffshore
Yellowtail, its what's for dinner here in Islamorada of the beautiful Florida Keys.
The sky was black as it tends to be at 6AM when I arrived at the Holiday Isle Marina. The winds with gusts up to 25 MPH (or more) continued on relentlessly. But there was sun--oh yes there was sunshine.
Whitey, as we call him, a first mate came in my office and announced that we were in for abutt whoopin today as he prepared his captain's vessel for the Gold Reserve's early morning full day charter....
