Mate jobs in Cape May

Hi, my name is Mike and I was just wondering if anyone is looking for a mate this summer out of south Jersey. To be honest I dont have a lot of experience, but I do have an extreme passion for fishing! I learn quick and I am very dependable and responsible. If you have any questions just shoot me a P.M.

Thanks Wahoonbox,

A little bit more about myself... Well I will be 22 next week (may 20). I rarely drink never do drugs. I go to Seton Hall University as a Finance major. I'm CPR certified and a certified first responder (the level just under EMT). Although I have only been offshore fishing a handful of times its something i know i love to do. Even though i dont have years and years of experience I learn quick and after a few trips you probably wouldnt even realize my inexperience. Everyone has to start somewhere.

maybe

we sometimes take a second mate on some of the over night tuna trips i will keep you in mind you. if you watch deadliest catch you get the idea on what the new guy has to go threw to prove them self. the good news is i guarantee you will not have to chop ice of the boat

If you're in cape may now try to do a couple drum trips. Tell the captain you'll work for free the first couple of times to learn the business. Hang out at the charter dock at south jersey and introduce yourself to all the captains and mates. The charter guys fish alot more than the piravate boat guys. Walk the docks and start by washing a couple boats for guys when they get back to the dock. When they go to pay you refuse the money and ask them to take you fishing the next time they go. It always works.

good luck PM me if you want to speak further.
