Two different animals----the Tekota is a levelwind star drag, versus the non-levelwind lever drag TLD 25. Depends on what you like and what you are used to. The Tekota is easier to use for beginners since they don't have to guide the line onto the reel and are more familiar with the star drag. The Tekota is also an aluminum frame reel with graphite sideplates where the TLD is an all graphite reel. The Tekota holds 2 more pounds of drag---24 lbs. versus the 22 lbs. from the TLD 25. Both reels with do a number on a striper (or rockfish), just depends on what you prefer.
