What Size Tekota for pulling umbrellas?700?800? I believe they have the same max drag? Only real diff. is line capacity.

I have a 700 and love it. Smooth drag and good cranking power. I pulled umbrellas as well as 42oz mojo's with it and it never blinked. You are correct the drags are the same, the 800 just has more line capacity.

600LC w/ linecounter if you plan to use braid, the extra $10 for the line counter makes life very easy. You should not need added capacity of a 700 or 800. I've used the 600LC on my friends boat for 2 seasons now and they have stood up well. Remember, braid is thinner then mono or wire, we use 65lb braid for trolling inshore and have not had it break once on my boat or on my buddies in 2 seasons. If you use wire, you need a penn special senator with the special spool to handle the line. I now even troll spoons off braid and it works well if you are in 20ft or less when trolling spoons, after that it gets tricky and you need a crew that knows what they are doing.

700 are fine. Very smooth drag, and will horse a big girl with ease, or two 25lbrs on a tantum rig

We are statrting to use the TEK 800 for wire. We use the TEK 600LC reels for power pro and have been very successful with them trolling Stretch plugs.

You can get power handles for the TLD 25s from Reel Colors or chack with Alltackle they may carry them as well.

I have a pair of 800's and they are great for many things. For umbrellas, I would think the 700 would work just fine.

Mine is spooled to the gills with 65 lb power pro.
