I dunno who wrote that list, but my wife's 02 Benz E320 wagon has had only one non-maintainence issue in over 80k miles. The one she had b4 this one was similar in its lack of problems. My 03 Audi A6 has 107k miles on it and the only thing I've had to do is replace a catalytic converter. I like it so much I just ordered the turbo-deisel A6 that's coming out in Feb 09. Don't put too much stock in some list...

You failed to mention price range. If you are looking under 30k
The Subaru Outback is the way to go.

I like it! But at over 100k I can't afford it, unless it comes with 50k in the glove box.

Just something to think about. AWD only really helps going up the hill, and a really good set of snows like Nokians will do a lot more for the downhill ride. THis could get you into the BMW 3 series with the hardtop....

Audi!

Nice cars. Riktronic has one bad ass awd Audi. The car is very comfortable and with 6 spd.8 cyl. it is very fun to drive . I have seen the Audi convertible and it has some very nice lines unlike other convts. which to me look like the rag-top was an after thought. Good luck!
