Barta Pictures & Info & A Major Thank You!!
Barta Boys and Girls Billfish Tournament 2007 is in the books now as one of the best weekends I have had in a very long time.
I have just completed a long ride home and most of the trip I reflected on this weekend and tried to decide how to make this post. So much happened I really am overwhelmed with things to say but I don’t want to bore you so Ill keep this short. So here is the short of it all. Drove to NC with my wife and kids and really did not know what to exspect other then Marty Hiatt told us to come as a family and they had something waiting for us. Got into town and Marty told us to head to the Inlet Inn and check in so we did and this is the start of the photos below. Now for you members that know about all of this I don’t know how to say thank you other then THANK YOU so much for making this a incredible weekend with my family!!! Marty Hiatt Bite Me JD5652 Shoefish Trophey Sportfishing Crazy Eyes Jayjysmith Wild1 Tuna TAXI Nimrod Biebs Shurdz DougieFshwtr Holwachagot Seabiscuit Ace GradyWhite273 GlennW And many many more I can not thank all you guys enough. Now Day 1 we went down to the tent and set up some stuff and watched the opening ceremonies take place. Now MARTY HIATT got a award for raising 100,000.00 dollars for the Boys and Girls club of NC. Marty what can I say other then thanks for having us along on this ride and congrates on this MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT! Hold your head up high man. Then all the sudden Marty calls me up to the stage and then my wife and Kids up to present a check to Tred for $25,000.00 yes that’s right all you members combined raised $25,0000.00 dollars this year for the kids of NC. Just a little more on this money I meet the guys who chartered the Tred trip and this was a amazing group of guys. But during the live auction we had a few members step up and buy up around 15,000 dollars worth of live auction items. I cant thank everyone who took part In this event enough no matter if it was .50 cents or 5,000 dollars each and everyone of you made this a success. Now onto the fishing, the weather was sorta crappy so Tred Barta made some rule changes to make sure every child and boat could partake in this event with no problem. They allowed dock fishing , inshore fishing, offshore fishing , beach fishing you name it everyone had a great time and made the best of the weather. For those of you that have not attended this event really should look at this one hard for next year. It is not to often we strap the kids to a rod In a tournament but this one is a great reason for a family outing to enjoy what you love. KIDS AND PARENTS WERE SMILING EAR TO EAR ALL WEEKEND. To everyone I meet thanks for stopping over to say hello. I’m sure I missed some people and I’m sorry for that. We had an absolutely amazing time and I enjoyed meeting each and every one of you. I hope to see many of you again next year and hope to see a lot of new faces aswell and look forward to making this a family event for me and my wife and kids every year from hear on out. Again thanks so much for everything and the pictures below will tell the story of this event. Capt John Eppehimer |
