HOW TO RIG AN 11" TWISTER

We looked forever for these BIG Twisters. They stretch to 13". They have been a huge success and have proven themselves last fall and continue to catch big fish this year. Although simple there is a RIGHT way to rig them.

The Twister has a seam along the top and bottom. This seam is in direct line with the tail, so your hooks must enter and exit along this line!! Each Twister has 9 lugs and grooves. They work very well on 9/0 and 10/0 jig hooks.

Tis time we are using a 9/0 Stinger Hook and 7 oz Parachute with a 10/0 Jig Hook. Start your Stinger Hook in the 4th Groove DIRECTLY ON THE SEAM LINE! The tail should have the curl up.. As you bend the twister make sure the hook shank stays in the top third of the lure. Exit the hook where the lugs meet the tail.

Pull the hook through until the eye is flush with the twister body.

Start your jig hook DEAD CENTER of the Twister front. ( If using smaller than a 9/0 Jig hook you would start the hook between the top and center. This will allow enough hook exposed when finished) Push the Jig hook through the twister and up through the eye of the stinger hook,

THE FINISHED LURE.

Q: Is there a reason for having the twister tail "up"? I always put'em down, thinking that it'll keep the tail from fouling on the hook...

Thanks!
That's from the proud new owner of some of these giants!
I'll be dragging them this weekend.

Do you always use "stingers"
i don't usually and even w/ 9" and 12" shads
have NOT noticed a lot of short strikes.

When I first got em we went thru I dont know how many trying to get them right. I rigged them everyway possible. For some reason the action seemed better with the curl up. I havent had any catch the stinger yet but I guess its possible. They can be rigged curl down ( we started that way) but I rig em up

Once you do it once or twice its easy..That screwdriver up the yang gives me chills!! I should have told you...I strted rigging the twisters without the plastic keeper. If you want to use it make sure it is on the stinger hook. IMO it doesnt leave enough gap if its put on after. Works a little better...I use the keepers on the shad though.

Dave, that pink head parachute has an 8/0 Jig Hook....You want to start that a little higher in the plastic to leave more of the jig hook exposed after it exits the twister
