How to submit articles
Article submissions are encouraged and can be sent to Managing Editor Bryan Rose at bryan@sportfishermen.com for review and publishing. There are unlimited topics of value to the Sportfishermen community so don't hold back. Please feel free to send full articles or to send queries on possible story ideas. We also encourage first time writers so questions about the process and benefits of becoming a writer can be sent to the editor without any hesitation.
We're looking for good fishing stories about big fish, epic trips or "the one that got away". Also on our list is any kind of how-to or rigging techniques and we have a Quick Tips section so you can show how to make your favorite rig or just share a general trick you've picked up along the way.
Also on our list are National and Regional articles, with in-depth tips, techniques, and instruction that cover a local fishery, event, or honey hole and how to fish it. Or you can share your knowledge on a skill that anyone can use anywhere around the world or across a wide geographic region.
We've got room for Inshore and Offshore articles along with Quick Tips, Freshwater, Boating, Tackle and New Products, and in the spirit of Sportfishermen.com, anything else we feel like putting there!
For established authors we offer the chance to archive past articles as well in our database in an effort to extend the knowledge base we offer users. This is a chance to have your materials stored online in one place where they can continue to help other fishermen, or in some cases put perspective on the history of our sport.
Submissions should include photos wherever possible and will speed the production of your article. Files should be sent as text attachments, preferably Microsoft Word, and photos should be digital files that are attached separately. We have space for almost unlimited photos so don't hold back, however please keep emails to under 10 mb each.
We're breaking new ground here as writers, and you can choose to write as long or as short as you'd like. Include as many photos as you care to and even video or any other digital media. It's a whole new world not bound by the limitations of production schedule or page count so tear into it with no boundaries.
Editor's Note: The Sportfishermen.com Community is an incredibly giving and helpful place. It is filled with knowledge and people willing to share it with others. Because of the generous outpouring of communal support it's deserving of a place where it can be featured in all its glory. It's been an honor to bring this to the community and am here solely to help with that continued sharing of knowledge, feel fee to contact me anytime.
