Sorry this report is a day late, got a lot going on right now getting ready for the fishing shows and seminars this year.
The NE winds are tough winds for us here in Southport but they were under 10 knots most of the day, but did get a little rough for the ride home later that evening.
We were fishing today with Jamie Matthis, Jeff Smith, Dr. Brent Westbrook from Clinton.NC and with them was Rodney Lanier from Dunn,NC.
The fish were biting pretty good only trouble was most were too small to be legal keepers. Out of all the grouper we never got a legal size grouper in the boat.
Now I am not going to say exactly what happened, but for some reason, Rodney was the only one fishing not too long after we started.
I guess the other guys were tired from the trip down, they decided to lie down and take a nap.
Around 2:00 that evening everyone had had enough so we headed back to the marina and I think I heard someone say that they never knew grass looked so beautiful before.
The king Mackeral are still on the beach although the East winds will most likely slow the bite some.
It sure slowed the bottom bite for us yesterday.
It's time for the Grey Trout and Red Drum to be congregating on the inshore reefs now.
Fall fishing/season is here, go catch some fish!!! Till next time, God Bless You All!!!
Fish On!!!
