The King Mackeral bite on the beach has been good. Live pogys have been the bait of choice.

Yaupon Reef is as far as you need to go, and really not that far, The King Mackeral are here!!!!

I tried to get bottom fish on a 1/2 day trip Wednesday, as you know, that's next to impossible until around December, but we tried.

We caught a lot of fish, but most were too small!!!

Thanks to my wife for putting up the report for me. I have been working non stop on the Yeah Right II.

I am known as one who doesn't quit, but lately I am beginning to wonder if the Lord is trying to tell me something.

You see, this trip my wife reported for me, well, we had an engine to heat up and figured the thermostat may have stuck.

So we replaced that and checked the water pump, all seemed fine. We fired her up and was waiting for the temperature to come up to normal when we discovered she has a cracked head and could possibly need a total rebuild, oh my goodness!!!!

What started off as a two week rebuild on the original Yeah Right has now turned into a three month nightmare.

As I said earlier, I am not one to give up, granted I have been pushed to nearly my limit lately, I am still pushing forward.

With today's economy and fuel prices as they are, maybe the Lord is telling me to get out now and quit sinking everything I have in these boats just to go fishing.

Maybe so, but the word was given to the mechanics at American Fish Company to go into "rush mode" and do what needs to be done ASAP to get her going again.

Yes, I am definately down at this time but don't count me out just yet.

At this point I am mentally and physically exhausted, I am definately too old for all this stress and work, but a little prayer each day and your prayers are keeping me going!!!

I am truly sorry I have had to cancel trips due to mechanical problems, a charter Captain's worse nightmare. You can't do anything about the weather, and apparently, the same is true with mechanical failure, but how much more mechanical problems can I bear?

The Lord says he will not put more on your shoulders than you can bear, and so, I have to move forward knowing this!!!

Thank You all that have understood the problems as being out of my control. Man made mechanical things are going to give problems.

Case in point: I was talking to the guys at American Fish Co. and they were telling me about a new boat that has run hot ever since it was new and no one can find out why.

The owner has spent a fortune on trying to get it fixed. The factory should replace that boat with a new one and reimburse the owner for what he has spent, we know how likely that is going to happen, but it would be the only right and ethical thing to do!!

Back to the "Yeah Right II"

Thank You all that have given me support through all this!!! You guys are the reason I feel it is imperative that I keep pushing on!!

Thank You all that continue to support us and haven't turned your back on us when the "chips are down" you are the greatest!!!

With your continued support and God's will, we will be back stronger than before!!!!!

Stronger than before? Yes, I will have a bigger boat, better ride, total dry ride, large comfortable cabin, full bath facilities, hot and cold running fresh water, cooking capability, heat and air conditioning, much more fishing room, and if the fuel prices don't go crazy we will not have to increase our rates.

Yes, I could use the excuse that I have a bigger boat and it cost more to run, but to be honest with you, so far, I don't see that much difference in the cost of fuel between this boat and the outboards.

Diesel fuel cost more at the dock than gas does at the local station. But the better MPG of the diesels offset the higher fuel cost, so it looks for now anyway to be about the same.

Granted the cost for repairs are much more costly, but once the "bugs" are gotten out, hopefully the diesel engines will have a longer run life than the outboards had.

So that's a little summary of what's been going on lately. Every time I think she is up and running we find another problem.

Should I just throw up my arms and give up, I don't know, I sure do want to and have strongly considered it!!!

But I quit something earlier in my life, although it was health related, It still bothers me today to think I was that weak.

But, at that time in my life, I didn't know God as I do now and I know now that "With God All Things Are Possible"

Again Thanks for your continued support. Please be patient with me, I am working non stop to correct all the issues with the engines, It is 3AM on Friday morning and I am heading to the Marina to start pulling the head off the engine, I WILL BE BACK, stronger than before!!!!

Till next time, God Bless You All!!!!!
Fish On!!!!
