Finally, we had great weather on the weekend for the first time since Labor Day. Hope you were here. The fishing was good!Plenty of small bluefish on the beach. Most were in the 10-14 inch range. Several up to 16 inches were reported along with a few kingfish. The fish were spread up and down the beach. No one hotspot. Fresh cut spot and frozen finger mullet are the best baits.

Loads of undersized flounder in the Indian River Inlet. There was a huge fleet of boats working the Inlet and bays over the weekend. A smaller fleet of boats was sitting just north of the Inlet within a half mile of the beach. Spike trout were reported out there.

A good number of schoolie stripers in the Indian River Inlet. There were a couple over 35 inches reported. Swim shads have been the most effective baits.

Good tautog fishing on the rocks in the Inlet. Plenty of small black drum in the mix as well. Live crabs and fleas are the right choice.

The 2nd Annual DMS Invitaional Surf Fishing Tournament will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 11-12. The DMS is offering a new truck prize to the person that breaks the existing Delaware state record for bluefish. Brouchures are available at Old Inlet.

Feel free to email us a report or to submit pictures for our picture page.
