Capt. Rich reported a fantastic day of local cod fishing. It was a one stop day with fish coming over the rail from start to finish. Just about everyone on board went home with a nice bunch of cod fish. It was a bit sporty today and somewhat tough to feel the very delicate bite but those anglers who did had a day to remember! Mixed sizes on the cod but most fish were in the 8 to 15 lb range with a few smaller and some larger ones in to the mid and upper 20s. Angler hi lights include but were not limited to the following: Mr. Pak from New York had an amazing day with 13 nice cod to take home, all in the 10 to 20 lb range and a fine 8 lb blackfish to boot! Stanley Vodraska from Albany, NY also had an exceptional day with 10 fine cod including the 28 lb pool winner and Stanley also had a 10 lb Pollock and a nice jumbo sea bass as well. Stephan from Hope Valley went home with 5 cod to 18 lbs. Many anglers commented that they did not even feel the bigger fish bite!! Best of all today there were hardly and dogfish!! It was pretty much clean cod and a few handfuls of perch. Next cod trip sets sail at 7am tomorrow morning aboard the Gail Frances.Capt. Ray reported a decent day of porgy fishing with 15 to 30 keepers per person and some bluefish mixed in for excitement. Next porgy trip sets sail tomorrow morning at 8am.
Capt. Mike reported a tough tuna trip that just came back today but tomorrow is a new day and a new blue water adventure.
