Lots of fog cleared about eight this morning and anglers scooted out on the ocean. Inlet didn't look too friendly, but only a four foot swell on the ocean made for decent fishing conditions. Catching wasn't so hot. Anglers found pods of weakfish hovering about fifteen feet off the bottom but couldn't get them to bite. Other anglers located scattered croakers, but really couldn't get them started to create a decent catch.
Back in the Great Bay it was fun fishing in the stakes pulling up all kinds of fish with only the progies seeming to be big enough to end up in the coolers.
Just an occasional scattered bluefish around the bay this afternoon and no reports of the weakfish back up in the area of Graveling.
Let the water settle after the blow? Not according to the weatherman; more NE for most of this week.
