My the wind is blowing. A northeaster has set in on us just in time for the Delaware Seashore Fall Surf Fishing Classic on Saturday and Sunday, Sept 27-28.
Alot of questions about if the tournament will be postponed or cancelled. At this point we are watching the weather. The only way the tournament will not be held is if the beaches are closed on both days. Right now it looks like Sunday wil be fishable. Check back here for daily updates.
Capt Sonny Crowell reports good action on schoolie stripers in the Indian River Inlet. Incoming tide on live spot. Sonny found keeper rockfish off the end of the north rockpile along with slammer blues.
Small blues were on the beach before the blow. fresh mullet is still scarce.
Delaware tautog season is currently closed but will reopen on the 28th. Black drum, small red drum and sheepshead have been reported along the rocks in recent days.
The 2nd Annual DMS Invitaional Surf Fishing Tournament will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 11-12. The DMS is offering a new truck prize to the person that breaks the existing Delaware state record for bluefish. Brouchures are available at Old Inlet.
