This past week saw about the same as the week before. A few Sharks along the nearshore ledges and sandbars as well as some ultra-light species such as Blues and Ladyfish in the nearshore rip-lines and shallows. The creeks are starting to come alive with plenty of Redfish and Trout at some of the best honey holes. The Reds and Trout are not in our area in any great numbers, but if you hit the right spot at the right time of the tide, you can load up. The water is still a little warm which means you have to battle with the junk fish (pinfish, spots, croakers, etc.), but as the water cools over the coming weeks, things will begin to really heat up. For those who like ultra-light inshore action, get ready. The inshore bite is about to bust loose!

ATTENTION A message to all visiting anglers. Please be aware of the many misleading fishing guide websites offering their services to Hilton Head visitors and guests. An attractive looking website with good looking photos accompanied by claims of "local expertise ," and "vast amounts of knowledge" does not in any way make it so. The Mighty Mako does not fish out of someone's backyard nor is it trailerd from here to there, randomly picking up clients at public docks or landings, demanding payment of cash only. The Mighty Mako has fished out of Palmetto Bay Marina for over 20 years and has been docked in the exact same slip (slip #1) for that entire time. We gladly accept several forms of payment and offer all of the amenities one would expect from a reputable marina and charter service. For me, fishing is not a hobby, although I do love what I do and I will always appreciate how fortunate I am. Nor is it some part-time job. It is a full time career and way of making a living, as well as my way of life
Hopefully, you will experience the thrill of a life time (or an enjoyable day among friends and family) when you fish aboard the Mighty Mako in 2008.
Tight lines to all you anglers who have fished (and have yet to fish) aboard the Mighty Mako.
LETS GO FISHING!!!! Tight Lines,
Capt. Dave
