The summer season has mercifully ended and it was with keeping in character that the fishing this past week offered very little action other than Sharks. Even they were hard to come by in any great size or numbers. With the exception of early to mid August, this summers season might very well be the worst in years. The quantity of species and the quality of action left much to be desired. If not for Hurricane Fay, I believe the area waters would have continued with decent catches of a wide variety of fish, but huge amounts of rain, run-off, and over the top winds conspired against area anglers. Oh well, there is always the fall season to look forward to. The end of Sep. thru Nov. will hopefully provide us with plenty of backwater, light-tackle action. The past 2 years, the fall season has been great for Reds and Trout, so I hope that trend continues. I will hopefully have good news to report at the end of the month.
