The sound of screaming reels in Cabo San Lucas have been heard because of the booming Dorado bite that began last reporting period and continued throughout this report with vigor. But wait, on top of that Dorado bite turning on Big Time, the Fishing Warriors were arm weary with other Hook Up's. Buoys and Gulls, at the Golden Gate the Striper Marlin were on a feeding frenzy and the K-atching made the fishing worthwhile. Most all the best fishing has taken place on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas and really not much happening (YET) out on the Sea of Cortez. However, some real great news, especially if you are entered or just coming to Cabo for the three Big Game Marlin Tournaments starting October the 14th, and that is several Blue Marlin have just days ago been caught between the 95 and 1150 areas. Now, back to the Pacific Ocean. The Dorado are everywhere! Straight out of Cabo about four miles, continuing towards the Old Lighthouse, past the Old Lighthouse out into the Pacific inside the Golden Gate area and everywhere in between. Yes, almost anywhere one is fishing they find themselves banging away at Dorado. Most are in the 20-30 pound weights, a few smaller and some caught are real nice at 40-50 pounds. I can tell you that those larger Bad Boys really fight, are extremely acrobatic and just so much fun to Hook Up and fight. One more good item — they taste good too! Most of the Stripers are chewing up the bait at the Double "GG" Spot or Golden Gate. However, they are not isolated only to this area as 4-5 miles off the Old Lighthouse and even straight out of the Cabo San Lucas Marina, the Marlin Fishing addicts are Hooking Up. Sorry to report for those in the pursuit of Tuna that some have been found at the Horseshoe however one can only scratch away and hope for the best. Lots of good energy is in the air now that the actions of fishing is productive for the catching. Now, let us feature a few fishing warriors who have Hooked Up on one of our Hook Up Charter Boat. And speaking of Hooking Up how about (David) Cherie and Tony Strong traveling all the way to Cabo San Lucas from Natchez, Mississippi. On September the 18th in the early morning light they boarded our Hook Up I with Captain Alex at the helm and deckhand Markus wanting in on the Dorado bite that was going off. Not to disappoint them, Captain Alex knew to take them to the Old Lighthouse area, where Cherie and Tony Hooked Up, battled and then brought to gaff 11-Dorado's. Most were of a real great size, the smallest being about 20-pounds. ( See pictures one of Tony and the other of Cherie (David). They commented, "Outstanding trip! Would recommends this crew and boat to anyone. I thank the crew for a great day and both Alex and Marcus were entertaining." The Three Amigo's Greg Martin, Don Pitts and Austin came down to Cabo to fish from St. Simmons, GA. At the docks on September the 21st they boarded our Innovator 32 named just Hook Up. And Hook Up they did! Departing the Cabo Marina they powered up and traveled straight out and after a real short rip of seven miles began fishing. Then, whala, after the fishing their catching started. One Striper Marlin estimated at 180 pounds! Now fishing fans, I am here to tell ya that this is a big Striper Marlin. Even some Black and Blue Tournaments allow a Striper to be weighed in, if it is over 175 pounds. Moved a little towards the hill and managed to catch 5-Dorado's. Remember I told you these Dorado are good eating? Well these guys commented, " Great Captain and mate. We loved the sashimi!"

To recap, once again when in Cabo San Lucas you are always on a bite somewhere at sometime. And now is the time to fish! Plus we all can dream it will only get better. Marlin chewing up the Mackerel, Dorado fishing escalating into usually near double digit catch ratios, and scratching away at Tuna all on the Pacific and all is good. Yes, no doubt about it, the local fishing has broken wide open. Now, a little quiz. Do you know the difference between a Fairy Tail and a Fishing Story? Well, the Fairy Tail begins with "Once Upon a Time" and the Fishing Story begins with, "this is no bullshit!" Should you come to Cabo San Lucas please stop by our Charter Office and Big Game Apparel Store even if just to say hello. Even just to say, This is no BS however..! Our staff loves fishermen and to talk fishing. Even get the latest info on What's Happening. Want a Charter Boat,? Well, No Problem! Hook Up is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Cabo one block off the main drag just across the street from Mar de Cortez Hotel. You are invited, just stop and yell, "Hook Up" if you want. See you at the store, at the docks or just out there.
