At least for a couple more days. The bass have been very cooperative for the most part. Clams have been working well but plugs needlefish and rubber are holding their own.
A few weigh ins from yesterda:
Phil LaGrossa bass 43" 28.8 lbs yes 28+ pounds on a plug
William Thompson bass 30" 6.7 lbs no a Grumpy clam
Thomas Lynch many bass to 29" 7.7lbs on a Wave Worm
Mr Lynch is from the left coast and new to our coast and surf fishing. He has been asking a lot of questions and following advice and it has paid off. We just have to get him to change his license plate. He will soon be the owner of a Seeker Baby ULUA prototype rod.
Have heard from the Berkeley Striper Club boys and girls and it seems that the night fishing is superior to the day fishing. Tony Carbone had steady action from 11 p.m. till 4 a.m. the other night with bass to 30 lbs. He brought home one at 26.6 lbs because it swallowed his darter and would not survive. He and John Buddish were going out last night to try their luck again. Will keep you posted.
From the southern front Grump did a 2hour ten minute seesaw battle with a large tarpon only to break it off at the boat. (my record still stands) Dan and Madman are holding their own. They must miss me , all Dan did was tex me all day yesterday. No news on the Pelican fishing though. Maybe Grump will surprize us.
Paul is still SINGING (I wish he was miserable again my ears hurt) and Ray can't get the birthday grin off his face ( keep calling him).
Grump will be back on Thursday so enjoy while you can. Maybe Paul will stop singing………….Mike
I must wish a Good Morning to my Sweetheart Miss Penny
