Chance of showers today but who cares. There's fish in the big lake. The surf is laying down and the bass were biting yesterday. Bass were taken on clams bucktails shads and swimmin plugs
From the surf
Anthony Nardiello bass 30" 8.4 lbs on a Grumpy clam
Bernie Beese bass 31" 7.4 lbs on a Grumpy clam
Jetty
John Augustine blackfish 15" 2.2 lbs on a crab
There were a lot more caught that weren't reported. Guys are trying to keep the fishing a secret.
Ray will be in the store till 2p.m. today so you can still call and wish him happy birthday. Paul is off today and I will be in at 2:00 pm cuz I'm just lazy.
A mess of the Berkeley Striper Club boys and girls are up at Montauk for a few days. I was supposed to be there with them but had to change my plans at the last minute. I will pass on their reports as I get them.
Didn't hear from Grump yesterday, maybe the pelicans finally got him. Dan and Kenny have both caught tarpon and have been ruined for life. I am taking the proto out this morning for a couple hours but it will be in the store after 2. Have not had any takers for the rod and reel found in the surf the other day. If its yours you can claim it. I won't embarrass you too much by putting your name on the fishing reports or anything like that. Trust me. You could always use your friends name and embarrass him. Thats it from Happys Tackle…………….Mike

I have no idea how that miserable rapscalion Mike blocked me for the last couple of days but good overcomes evil and here I am!
There are no Tarpon Virgins anymore. The two amatuers have beeen kept very busy with the Silver King (and Jacks and Barracuda). Madman Kenny did an hour and 51 min. fight with a monster only to lose it on a reef. (and he is still smiling). Dan is the new title holder for the smallest Tarpon and he is still smiling! They are both amassing a collection of broken and bent stuff to put into a display box with thier Tarpon scales. Yes mon, I am getting my share of Tarpon too! It is just a lot of fun to watch these two nutcases try and fail and try and fail and try and win! The NEW prototype rod is handling these fish with no problem. Maybe I should just stay an extra few weeks to be 100% certain? Sure do wish you were Mikey, not!
