Grumpy's Bait and Tackle NJ Fishing Report 9/10/08

The Grumpys have arrived home safely.It will be long faces for the next two weeks then Happys Tackle will rise again'
Bluefish hit Island Beach big time yesterday afternoon and the pocket was the place to be. Metal was the bait of choice. Seems the fish were there from mid afternoon till dark as I had numerous phone calls and guys stopping in to relay their stories. Its time to start fishing. We have fresh mullet, bunker and clams on hand so get to the beach.
I am in the middle of building a first run 10' Seeker rod that was made just for us. Looks like this is going to be a great pencil popper - metal lipped swimmer rod with a nice soft tip but with a mess of backbone. I'll have to keep you posted on this one. Seeker is doing their best to build some rods for the right coast and I think they will be giving the major players a run for their money.
