Capt. Ray reported that scup fishing rebounded quite well today with action throughout the day even during the change of tide. Mixed sizes but a good amount of keepers with a few jumbos around 1.5 to 1.75lbs in the mix as well. Quite a few keeper sea bass including a couple in the 2.5lb range and a fine 5lb fluke that fell victim to a bit of clam. Sam from New Bedford had had his limit and a couple other anglers fished half the day and had 35 to 40 keepers apiece with most anglers getting 15 to 30 keepers apiece. Squid was working as well as clams today and squid is available for sale in Capt. Tackle. Clams is the bait provided on the boat. For those who like to use sand worms those are also available for sale in the tackle shop. Next 8am full day scup boat sails tomorrow aboard the Admiral Frances.
Capt. Rich reported some better action today with a mixed bag of nice fluke and keeper sea bass. A few anglers had three to five nice fluke apiece and some had upwards to a half dozen keeper sea bass each. Three big fluke today including fish of 8.5 and two 7lbrs. Capt. Rich called the action much improved today and Capt. Mike looks forward to another decent day tomorrow on the 7am fluke/sea bass boat which will be the Gail Frances.
