Capt. Rich reported a nice mixed bag of bottom dwellers today on the 7am full day fluke and sea bass boat. Anglers picked away at a fair number of keeper sea bass and keeper fluke with a few bigger fluke mixed in to 8lbs. Customers also caught a good number of nice size scup to 2lbs and longtime regular customer Jay brought the first pre fall codfish to the gaff today with a healthy chunky groundskeeper which just narrowly got beat out of the pool by the 8lb fluke. A few bluefish thrown in for good measure as well. Next 7am trip sails tomorrow aboard the Gail Frances.Capt. Paul reported an outstanding half day after noon charter for the Dan Pingker group. They enjoyed solid action all through the trip with large and jumbo scup to over 2lbs and nice size sea bass up to 4lbs plus two fluke in the 5lb range and one good size blackfish around 6 lbs. Capt. Paul said the group was happy with the non stop action. Best of all the action was all very close to home.
Capt. Chris reported the scup fishing both local and somewhat abroad was somewhat lack luster today. The bigger scup just were not biting all that well for his customers today but then again they do call it fishing and not catching. Anglers did get some nice scup and a few good size sea bass and one good size blackfish. Unfortunately there were a lot of scup that just missed the mark. Capt. Ray will be out tomorrow aboard the Admiral Frances leaving at 8am.
