Capt. Ray reported that no two days are the same and the porgy fishing was not quite as hot today as yesterday. The bite was just off but anglers did pick away at some nice size scup and a few keeper sea bass. Anglers also boated a few good size fluke to 4lbs. Most anglers did leave with a fair to decent amount of fish. Tomorrow is another day and we will try again at 8am aboard the Admiral Frances.Capt. Rich reported the fluke fishing was decent today on the 7am boat. Very few short fish so when you got a fluke it was usually a good one with the average fish in the 4 to 5lb range. A few bigger fish with Bob Lazure nailing the 9 lb 28.5 inch pool winning slab on the last drift of the day. Bob had a few other jumbo fluke and two slammer scup over 2lbs to take home as well. Mr. Pak went home with 6 fine keepers today all in the 4 to 5.5 lb range. There were a surprising number of giant scup today with the largest nearly 3lbs and over 18 inches in length!! Just a few keeper sea bass today. All in all for mid September not bad at all.

Capt. Mike reported an excellent Tuna bite on the extended trip which just came back to the docks. Everyone caught at least one tuna and some anglers caught as many as 3 or 4 each. The catch was predominantly nice size Albacore in the 35 to 45 lb range with one slammer 90 lb Yellowfin and a fair bunch of good size bull Mahi taken as well. The only improvement we would like to see is more of a night bite as the bulk of the action has been on the troll during the day. One large mystery fish this trip won the tackle battle and rumors abound about it being a very large swordfish but I guess we will just never know. All in all this makes three very respectable trips in a row and we look forward to getting right back out there tonight for more blue water adventure.
Capt. Ted reported that Benji Hiller's Tuna charter today, of the inshore and ultra light tackle and maximum sport variety, was a success with plenty of action involving good size Bluefin Tuna and several large bull Mahi in the 20lb class and one large Blue Shark. Capt. Ted and his charter were pleased with the day's action and just goes to show that there is some offshore life on the inshore grounds! The Capt. Frances is available for inshore Tuna charters for small groups.
