Capt. Ray reported that Porgy fishing not only rebounded today but today was the best of the season so far!! The morning bite was red hot with double header keepers flying over the rails, in fact one guy had caught his limit by shortly after 10 am!!!!! That gentleman went on to catch at least 70 keepers size scup for the day retaining only his limit of course and he also caught well over 100 shorts! Needless to say the action was non stop! There were several other anglers who were limited out and the rest all had 20 to 35 nice scup apiece to take home and anglers also had upwards to a half dozen keeper sea bass each with everyone taking home at least a few of them as well. A few of the sea bass topped out around 3lbs. Capt. Ray and another fellow each had a nice fluke to take home. A handful of short fluke as well. A small striper, a triggerfish, and a short blackfish also made their appearance today aboard the scup boat. The scup and sea bass just seemed to carpet the bottom all along the inshore rock piles. It was a gorgeous day on the water weather wise and the fishing could not be much better, we look forward to another day of this fast paced action tomorrow aboard the Admiral Frances starting at 8am.Capt. Rich reported a fair day on the 7am fluke and sea bass boat. Some really nice fish today but not in great numbers. The vast majority of those fish taken were in the 4 to 6 lb range with the largest around or just over 7 lbs taken by none other than Mike Tilelli as part of a catch of several jumbo fluke today . Mike also dropped several really big fish as did a few other anglers. Just a few handfuls of keeper sea bass today in the mix and a couple platter size scup to 3lbs and a few bluefish. Next 7am trip sails aboard the Gail Frances tomorrow morning.
