Capt. Rich reported a slow to fair pick of nice sea bass including some real humpback jumbos and some nice fluke. Some anglers did much better than others. There were at least a dozen sea bass over 4lbs with a 6lb sea bass just losing out to a fluke a smidge over 6lbs for the pool!! One angler in particular had an amazing day getting his limit of fluke to 4lbs and 7 big sea bass to 6lbs!! That angler is Mike Tilelli who is about the best fluke fisherman this angler has ever seen!! Next 7am boat sails tomorrow morning aboard the Gail Frances.Capt. Frank and Roger went out today and found hungry codfish at just about every place they went to. No monsters today but all healthy fat quality fish. There was bait and whales, both Minke and Finbacks breaching everywhere on the local cod grounds and a big Mako breeched right near the boat as well!! All signs point to a very promising fall.
Capt. Don reported a very successful whale watch trip today. Only two more left for the season so hope to see you this weekend! Capt. Don and his customers also saw the Minke and Finback Whales.
Capt. Ray reported last night's Striper fishing was okay with some nice bass boated including a monster cow bass that tipped the scales at just a shade under 40lbs, and the usual barrage of big bluefish. Some good size Stripers were lost due mostly to angler error so please please listen to the bass crew when they give advice as they only want you to catch more bass! An added bonus for a lucky angler last night was a fine 8lb doormat fluke that couldn't resist a live eel! Next Striper trip sets sail tonight at 7pm.
Capt. Don reported a few nice fluke on this morning's half AM trip plus a good bunch of nice size scup and sea bass.
