9/2/08 - New Jersey - Surf/Bay - Fisherman Fred's LLC

Seems like a broken record on the reports lately but nothing much has changed. The surf is a little rough so you might want to bring the heavy rods with you. Fluke, spotty blues with a few kingfish, croakers, and some small bass thrown in from the surf from Ortley Beach to Seaside, and IBSP. Croakers, kingfish, fluke, being caught from LBI. Hearing that there is lots of herring and small bunker around. With this, keep tabs on what is happening as this is the first signs of the fall run starting. Reefs and wrecks are still producing catches of fluke, ling and sea bass. Best bets are Barnegat Reef and Little Egg Reef. Swells are pretty good size the further you get out from the inlets.

Just a reminder that fluke season is slowly coming to an end. Barnegat and Great Bays are producing catches weakfish, kingfish, snappers and blowfish. Meyer's Hole at Barnegat Light, BB and BI buoys, and along the west side of Barnegat Bay and Graveling Point in Great Bay are the your best bets.
