9/19/08 UPDATED 9:06 AM Starting to get a lot of people in the shop now and they are getting good bluefish action of the surf. 8 ounces to hold. The tip of the north jetty is on fire with bluefish if you have the proper equipment to get out there.UPDATED 6:22 AM Brian is on the beach again today. A lot of white water, 3 foot rollers, not much going on yet. The mullet run is really kicking in now.
YESTERDAY'S REPORT: UPDATED 6:52 AM Our own Brian Pasch called me from the beach around Area 7 and he is into steady bluefish on a popper. He fished the pocket early before the sun came up for bass with no success. I can't remember the last time Brian fished on the beach so it's great to see and great to hear this report.
UPDATED 6;05 AM The colder night really have the mullet run going now. One of our regulars brought us 200 dozen last night. They are getting bass and bluefish mostly on bait, but don't be afraid to throw some plugs. Getting both blues and bass on poppers and metal. Talked to Dr. Steve F. who said his friend had 3 nice bass on poppers in Lavallette yesterday.
